My Mother's Song - art exhibit by Valentyna Sanina Location = Ukrainian National Museum 2249 W. Superior St Chicago, IL 60612 You are invited to attend the opening of “My Mother's Song” - an art exhibit by Valentyna Sanina on Friday, March 5th at 7:00 pm. The exhibit will continue through March 21st. “Human art for human lives” is the way that Valentina Sanina describes her work, a description whose simplicity belies the depth of meaning behind it. She has dedicated her exhibit of pen and ink, oils and beaded oil paintings to her mother and to Ukraine - her motherland. Born in Ukraine, Sanina was formally educated in the Soviet Union, where she became a celebrated muralist and was elected a fellow of the prestigious Art Society of the former USSR. The beautiful nature of Ukraine also fostered her esthetic education; the blooming flowers of summer, the subtle nuances during thaws, the wondrous winter frost on windows. Her work has been published and exhibited throughout the United States and as far away as Japan. The Ukrainian National Museum is located in the heart of the Ukrainian Village, at 2249 West Superior Street in Chicago. Hours: Thursday through Sunday, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm Admission: Adults $5.00, Children under 12 - Free Cost = $5 Contact / RSVP Information = Anna Chychula, 312-421-8020, admin@ukrainiannationalmuseum.org Organization sponsoring Event = Ukrainian National Museum |
